How about fresh popcorn made in the microwave?
Today’s Costco find is KIRKLAND Signature “PALOMITAS” microwave popcorn.
Red box = butter flavor / Blue box = natural (salt) flavor.

Reference price (either one): 💲299.00
The big selling point: 44 packs per box.
That’s about 💲6.7 per pack, which usually beats buying single packs at the supermarket.
What’s inside?
You get 44 individual packs, tightly packed in the box.

Heads up: They’re not mixed. Blue box = only blue, Red box = only red.
Nutrition + instructions (back)
Each pack shows nutrition and preparation steps. If you want to avoid burnt popcorn, read the instructions the first time.

Here’s an example of the expiration/lot label (varies by purchase batch).

Key safety + success tips
- Kids shouldn’t handle it alone: the bag gets very hot.
- Do not use the microwave “popcorn” button: it can overcook and burn.
- Time is a guideline: start shorter, then add 10–15 seconds as needed.
- Be careful when opening: steam can escape.
Making it (step-by-step)
Open the outer plastic wrap—inside is the paper bag. Don’t open the paper bag before cooking.

Unfold the paper bag like this, and place it in the microwave with the correct side facing down (as indicated on the bag).

This is how I placed it in the microwave—fully opened so heat circulates properly.

I set it to 1:50 (slightly longer). If it’s your first time, start at 1:30 and adjust.

Don’t walk away—listen closely. When popping slows down (longer gaps), stop the microwave. If many kernels remain, reheat in 10–15 second bursts.
Done!
The bag is very hot—let it cool a bit or use an oven mitt. Then pour and enjoy fresh popcorn.

Taste notes
- Butter (red): strong buttery aroma; great if you like that classic theater vibe (not for everyone).
- Natural (blue): cleaner, simpler taste; best if you prefer less aroma.
Easy upgrades: spices, parmesan, extra butter, sugar, or chocolate sauce.
Bottom line: A 44-pack at this price is excellent value, and the “freshly popped at home” experience is honestly fun. Recommended.
