Give it a try: Costco’s classic toilet paper
Today’s pick is one of Costco’s long-running best sellers: Kirkland Signature Bath Tissue. Over time it has gone through multiple improvements, and in my experience it feels better than older versions.

Kirkland Signature Bath Tissue 30 rolls front package

① “Thicker than ever before” (and it actually feels thicker)

The packaging strongly emphasizes that it is “thicker than ever before.” And yes, it does feel thicker than before—without feeling harsh. It is more of a comfortable thickness.

Package detail: 30 rolls and 380 sheets per roll

② 380 sheets per roll (per perforation)

Each roll is labeled as 380 sheets. In practice, this means the number of perforated sections (roughly every 10 cm).

It also says “2-ply.” The thickness is close to what you would expect from a 2-ply feel, although it may not match every traditional 2-ply product. Still, the result is solid—and that is why each roll feels a bit heavier overall.

③ Scent-free and made in Mexico

It is unscented, and the packaging shows it is made in Mexico.

④ Easy storage: 5 smaller packs (6 rolls each)

After opening, I found five smaller packs, each containing six rolls. This is great for storage and also makes it easy to share with friends or family.

⑤ A single roll looks normal… so let’s compare

One roll by itself looks like regular toilet paper, so the real differences show up when you compare it.

⑥ Compared to a supermarket roll

Left: Kirkland / Right: a supermarket roll I used before.
The Kirkland roll is packed more tightly (less empty space in the roll), and the diameter is larger. Because of that, each roll feels heavier.

⑦ How it feels in use

In use, it feels thick but still soft. The overall experience is comfortable, and many people who try it share a similar impression: better feel and improved quality.

⑧ Value: slightly higher per roll, but competitive overall

At 419.63 MXN, it is about 13.98 MXN per roll. That can be a bit higher than some supermarket options, but when you factor in comfort, quality, and the actual amount per roll, it feels much closer in real value.

Costco also discounts it occasionally. In Japan, for example, it is discounted a couple of times per year and sells extremely fast—showing how popular it is. If you have not tried it yet, it is worth testing.
